O-RAN 7.2 5G End-to-End Platform
The Picocom O-RAN 7.2 5G End-to-End System accelerates 5G development with a complete, out-of-the-box small cell network evaluation platform. It simplifies testing, fosters innovation, and reduces time-to-market for 5G solutions. This compact O-RAN 7.2 5G system enables quick evaluation and deployment of 3GPP 5G NR and O-RAN compliant systems. In addition to Picocom SoCs and software, the platform features key components from industry-leading vendors, including SRS (Software Radio Systems), TI (Texas Instruments) and iCana.
Designed for companies advancing their 5G initiatives, the system provides fully integrated and tested components in an O-RAN split 7.2 topology that includes: a 5G Core, Centralised Unit (CU), Distributed Unit (DU) with Picocom PC802 High PHY connected via an Open Fronthaul eCPRI link to Picocom PC805 O-RU with radio front end that enables the provision of services to commercial handsets or UE test equipment.
The Picocom 7.2 5G system is delivered in a compact but modular form factor that enables the system to be scaled and modified depending on the application, so as to meet the diverse needs of the 5G Open RAN small cell ecosystem yet allows companies to reconfigure and adapt it to their requirements.
The Picocom 7.2 5G End-to-End System is designed for:
- Lab based evaluation of O-RAN components
- Lab based test environments
- Neutral host and private network demonstrations
5G NTN End-to-End Platform
In the digital era where ubiquitous connectivity is mission-critical, satellite broadband emerges as an innovative solution delivering reliable high-speed internet to remote and underserved regions. Leveraging 3GPP-standardized Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) technology, this approach extends 5G capabilities to uncharted industrial and geographical frontiers while harnessing the global mobile ecosystem’s economies of scale for satellite communications.
Picocom NTN end to end system accelerates NTN evaluation and development with a complete, out-of-the-box evaluation platform. It streamlines test environment setup and configuration, fosters innovation, and supports NTN deployment evolution. Designed for companies advancing their NTN initiatives, the system provides fully integrated and tested components, including 5G NTN gNB (in Ground Gateway), 5G NTN Modem and satellite communication fading channel simulator.
- The Ground Gateway system includes PC802 SPP01 BBU board serving as 5G NTN gNB and partner Core Network be pre-integrated for seamless operation.
- The terminal system includes PC802 SCB working as 5G NTN Modem for base station connectivity and Laptop-based performance testing environment.
- Another PC802 SCB is connected to both 5G NTN gNB and 5G NTN Modem, simulating the large time delay and large doppler frequency shift fading channel in satellite communication. For organizations with dedicated satellite spectrum access and existing RF infrastructure, the simulator can be removed. Then 5G NTN gNB connects to Antennas & Feed Systems, 5G NTN Modem connects to Phased Array Antenna, and with satellites in the space connecting both sub-systems, the NTN innovation can be evaluated directly with real satellites.
This modular architecture supports progressive development from lab validation to field deployment, facilitating rapid prototyping and commercialization of NTN solutions across the mobile ecosystem.
