Picocom featured in the TSMC Europe Technology Symposium 2022 Innovation Zone
Picocom was invited by TSMC to participate in its emerging customer showcase this summer. Picocom was proudly one of nine innovative companies to exhibit at the first-ever in-person Innovation Zone at the 2022 TSMC Europe Technology Symposium and showcase its successful partnership with TSMC. The dedicated Innovation Zone was started in 2021 to showcase TSMC start-up customers’ cutting-edge products and innovations.
The company welcomed the in-person opportunity to demonstrate its progress in delivering 5G Open RAN solutions with a fully-functional live demo featuring the PC802, a purpose-designed PHY SoC for 5GNR/LTE small cell disaggregated and integrated RAN architectures.
Picocom develops SoCs for telecommunications infrastructure that is often deployed in inaccessible locations and expected to function reliably for at least a decade. Because of this, Picocom’s customers and engineers have very high standards for quality and reliability.
“As a young company, collaborating with TSMC and its ecosystem partner inspires quality and confidence. We chose the TSMC 12nm FFC process for our first SoCs as third-party hard IP was readily available, and we met our power budget. TSMC has exceeded expectations on timescales for our critical engineering lots,” said Peter Claydon, president of Picocom.
The company works closely with TSMC and imec.IC-link, a leading ecosystem partner of TSMC’s Value Chain Alliance (VCA) program.
