Following its successful MWC 2022 in-person event, Picocom was pleased to once again participate at Mobile World Congress, 27 February – 2 March 2023 in Barcelona, this time with its first-ever exhibitor booth.

Located in Hall 5 (5I32), Picocom exhibited its award-winning PC802 – a purpose-designed PHY SoC for 5GNR/LTE small cell disaggregated and integrated RAN architectures.

Customers, prospects and partners met with Picocom to see PC802 in action and discover the benefits of the 5G Open RAN baseband SoC optimised for disaggregated small cells.

Demo: PC802 Integrated Small Cell end-to-end demo

This demo shows an integrated small cell with (2T2R, gNB, TDD) 100MHz with Picocom PC802 and NR PHY, running on a PC802 Small Cell Board with integrated ADI transceiver (ADRV9029), and Radisys Connect RAN 5G CU/DU running on the onboard NXP NPU (NXP LS1046).

This demo shows end-to-end capability in an O-RAN Alliance split 7.2 architecture, using Picocom’s award-winning PC802 ORANIC in-line PHY/NIC card in an O-DU, with Radisys Connect RAN 5G stack software and commercial UE. It formed part of the O-RAN Alliance member MWC 2023 demos.

Picocom was proud to showcase an array of ‘Picocom Powered’ customer products from Accton, Antevia Networks, BONC, Ecochip, KiwiCT, Newugroup, Vavitel, Wifo and ZKW. It was great to have the opportunity to showcase the innovative technology on display and talk with delegates about how PC802 can power their products.
