At MWC24 Barcelona, Picocom and Software Radio Systems (SRS), celebrated the full integration of srsRAN Enterprise 5G with both the Picocom PC802 Small Cell Board (PC802SCB) in Split 7.2 Radio Unit (O-RU) mode and the PC802 ORANIC in-line PHY and NIC for O-DU.

Integration with Picocom PC802 ORANIC in-line PHY and NIC for O-DU:

  • Open RAN in-line L1 PHY and NIC PCIe card based on PC802
  • srsRAN Enterprise 5G L2/3 integrated via SCF FAPI interface
  • Supports dense vRAN deployments
  • Up to 8 O-RUs with 100MHz 4T4R
  • Tested and validated with Viavi TM500 and TeraVM

Integration with Picocom PC802SCB-based Split 7.2 Radio Unit (O-RU):

  • PC802 Small Cell Development Board (PC802SCB)
  • Analog Devices (ADI) ADRV9029 4T4R RFIC subsystem
  • Split 7.2 Radio Unit (O-RU) configuration
  • Up to 100MHz 4T4R
  • Tested and validated with Viavi TM500 and TeraVM

srsRAN L2/3 + Picocom L1 also supports small cell form-factors with the PC802SCB in Split 0 (integrated small cell) configuration.

srsRAN Enterprise 5G is a fully virtualised O-RAN-native CU/DU solution. SRS has written every component from Layer 1 through Layer 3, from I/Q to IP. Fully containerised, srsRAN Enterprise 5G can be stood up on any white-box hardware in minutes. It can be targeted at on-premise servers or cloud infrastructure, depending on the constraints of the planned network deployment.
